course Loads

Yes. No. Yes....? No, definitely not... up and down, I couldn't make up my mind whether to add another class to my already full repertoire, and as I sat in front of the green room trying to analyze my options, I came to the conclusion that seven classes, a music video, an NGO, a directing gig, a producing stint, some editing, a screenplay and a novel, were more than enough for one semester. i tried to hush the voice in my head that wanted to take Principles of Acting by saying "You'll do it in Grad school, or film school" But then Larry came out and we started talking and he made it sound so good!! And it is good, so before i knew it, I had dropped personal wellness on Tues and Thurs with my soccer coach and added acting, now I need to find another coach for personal wellness on M,W,F and thats a bit upsetting cos I liked my coach!

Right now i'm trying to silence that ever so tiny voice in my head that's predicting burnouts and a breakdown...

but for now the main voice has shut up, it's happy to be in Acting class, because it'll help me with writing, character analysis and hopefully get rid of my camera shyness. Hopefully by the middle of the semester when i'm tired, I'll read this update and I'll remember why i'm doing all this and it'll refuel me and I'll keep going.

gallery - article

has anyone tried uploading to the gallery lately? I haven't been able to the last two times I tried.. I'm going to try the new interface though it seems more personalized.

i also wrote an article but it hasn't shown up on the site yet, and I haven't received any emails concerning it ... How long on average does it take for an article to be read and approved?

wordage... whats yours?

Do you have a word you say that you use all the time without realising it? When Mitu came the first thing I noticed was that her favorite word was "Disgusting". We were watching S.W.A.T and for the first 20 minutes every few minutes she'd say disgusting. I laughed my head off, its not just her use of the word, its the way she says it, and how disgusted she looks and sounds.

Apparently I use the word Golly (not Jolly but Golly) a lot and its just very interesting because now I catch myself just before I say it.

I have this deal with my brother, where each time I use the word "like" unnecessarily I owe him a dime, I must be doing a good job because so far I only owe him two dollars.

Soccer Culture Versus Football Culture

I was talking about soccer with Salim and we were talking about the major differences between American football and regular football or soccer. And we came to the realization that if nothing else, soccer creates more diversity and understanding of cultures. For example players in one team can come from all over europe and all around the world, and be cheered for by fans the world over. Soccer fans are more aware of what's going on in the rest of the world, and share a strong camaraderie with other fans regardless of their nationality. And offcourse soccer seems to me to be less about violence and more about skill. American football on the other hand is a sport only native to american's and seems to me to involve a lot of violence and bulldozing and doesn't encourage globalization.

Maybe this isn't the most unbiased critique of Football, and soccer but thats how I feel about it, and I'm hoping someone can give me a different perspective & other insights on American football.

school's in

I have seven courses this semester, two of which I have to take as independent study because of time conflicts. Then I have tutoring assignments - the schedules still haven't been completed yet - I should know more by next week. I've also agreed to help SSS with pathfinders - basically I help freshmen students in the SSS program to learn time management skills, etc and essentially any skills to help them succeed in college.

The Art Dept's new computer lab was finished over the summer and it is ROCKING!! Each computer has about 60GB can you imagine!! and offcourse they are mac G4's and have the latest editing software!! I might get to work in the lab if I can get work-study, that would be a dream!! Get paid to work in the lab!! All the computers have DVD burners and off course IMovie so I'm going to re-edit my film and burn it on DVD - woohoo!!

I can't believe its starting again, but I feel this unstoppable surge of energy and excitement being unleashed!! Hope this semester is more wicked than the last!!

World Link TV - Chat The Planet

Has anyone seen or heard of World Link TV? In todays world of bullshit news and fabricated media stories, if you actually want to know whats going on and what people are thinking and not what the media wants you to think, then thats the station to watch. Its one of the few stations like free speech TV that show people who excercise their right to self-thought and self-expression. Ask your cable/satellite provider how to get it, for more info visit www.worldlink.tv.

They are currently collaborating with GYAN (through CHAT THE PLANET - www.chattheplanet.com) on a couple of projects the most notable being "BRIDGE TO BAGHDAD" a two part program that connected American teenagers to Iraqi teenagers pre and post war to talk about the war and about being a teenager in the world, and also reminding us that despite our external differences, we are still and will always be each of us members of the human race.

Chat The Planet provides opportunities to participate in meaningful dialogue with other youth and leaders and also to voice your opinions and find meaningful ways to create change and be heard. So what are you waiting for? Get going already!

roadtrip

we just got back from NY and NJ this morning, it was a very short trip, we left on Saturday after midnight and got back today (Tuesday) a little before 9am. But we had a blast! We were in a minicamper so we had pillows and blankets and movies and a video camera so we had a lot of laughs and got to sample everyone's music CD's ... from Indian, to Techno, to Spanish, To Carribean, and hip-hop we heard a little bit of everything.

As fate would have it, we again happened to bump into Jonah who just happened to be in town just like last year:) Its always re-energizing to see ben and jonah!! Has anyone seen the new GYAN material (brochures, posters)!! rather fantastic!

And then had a blast with David at "The Sandy Beach" :) And had to sit through mitu and David watching my movie - Luckily it wasn't as painful as I thought it would be - I actually enjoyed seeing it through their eyes... But I must admit I'm glad they've seen it and that its over!! YAY!!

On the flip side, school starts tomorrow and we have to unpack our apartment and put it into a livable shape cos before we left we had just moved all our belongings there but hadn't sorted them out.

Another exciting semester to look forward to - and good news on the gm front, mitu is getting paid to work seventy hrs a week (I meant to say seven hrs/wk seventy hrs/semester) on gm so we now have some woman power!!

I'm just really, extremely excited and beyond thrilled that both my brothers are here!! Islam got back on saturday and we just picked sal up from ny - even if he's only here for two weeks!!

Mitu's Here!

Mitu esta arrivado hoy! I finally fell asleep last night or rather this morning at 6am and I knew I should have the cell-phone by my bed - that's why I jumped out of bed at 11:30 and ran downstairs to check my phone. Mitu had called 4 times since 8:48!! I felt dreadul, then kept calling but couldn't get ahold of her - Finally we make connection and I drive to Athens to pick her up.

We start with the keys, it was a nightmare finding an RA and then when we finally found one and got the keys to the room, mitu got to pick her bed, and closet and study desk - Advantages to arriving early:)

Then we went to admissions got her into classes! see Mitu you didn't have to worry!!

Then we went to college courts to get some of my things - I have been lazy for two-thirds of the summer and then today I have been lifting and carrying things up and down stairs - Ahh..ooh...owwww...

We drove back to Bonners house just in time to find mitu's things being thrown -- I mean removed - from David's car.

We were quite a sight lugging mitu's baggage across the parking lot. I truly believe Mitu has packing super powers! Her small suitcase felt like it was full of rocks and stones!! Thankfully Kiril happened to be walking by and helped us carry everything to the third floor - Thanks Kiril!! !!!

Finally we went to my apartment and unloaded, did I mention I spent 20 mins on the phone trying to get my electricity turned on - And Mitu had an adventurous time with the phone card .. My lips are sealed.

Then offcourse Salim called, and Islam called, - he's getting a new car!! Can't wait to see it!

Did I mention it was about 5:30 by then and I had eaten nothing! That's right NOTHING all day, and mitu had only had pancakes for breakfast - so needless to say we were STARVING!! And eyeing everyone as potential food. I was soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
ooooooooooooooo hungry!! HUNGRY! YUNWA!!! BHUKE LAGI!! FAIM!! HAMBRE!!! yeah you copy?!!

Finally we got a pizza which was too hot to eat in the car!! but eventually we made it in one piece and gobbled up a large pizza save two pieces.

Offcourse as soon as Mitu went to take a shower I fell on the bed!! I had a very exhausting sleep all I dreamt about was how tired I was!! Oh my achy breaky bones!

ow its ten and we're watching "Queer Eye For The Straight Guy"

Mitu just got up, but she's still sleepy. What a day!! Its hard to put in the details but everything happened today!! Everything!

Whew!! After a day like this I can probably survive military camp.
